Juice ko!

I decided to try juice. I read so much about it and I got very interested, but knowing me, I really don’t have time to make my own juice and of course I am not sure of the right combination so I did some research and finally I decided to order online through Pure Jus. If you want to order you can check it at Instagram, where I do a lot of my shopping.

We got 9 bottles because I want hubby to try it too. I know this will help my system flush the toxins away and I hope my tummy will be healthy this time because most of the time I am hungry and I know it’s not normal. Anyway, the juice is delicious and nourishing.

Then after taking our order at The Fort, we decided to stay at our favorite coffee shop then we walked around the area.

Then we need to go back home early because Gareth had fever and I need to check on him from time to time.

 

Benefits of Swimming

Summer time is here and everyone is talking about swimming. But I know that some are not really into swimming and they rather stay at home than going to the beach or to the pool. Well, think again because here are the benefits of swimming:

I love to swim and I really wish to have my own pool at home but since I can’t afford it yet, all I have to do is to visit the nearby pool inside the village. I think I have to start planning my swimming activity, I will definitely include it in my routine while it is still summer.

 

Health Update

It’s a busy day. We went to a Chinese Doctor at Binondo today for check up and so far my blood sugar is getting better. Its not as high as before. My hba1c on 2011 was 13% and the normal range is 4-5%. So when I heard about Dr. Tan, I never wasted time, and asked for the herbal medicine. I take all the herbs eventhough the taste was so bad. I am determine to lower my blood sugar so I have to take whatever it takes. Then after 6 months my hba1c result was 9%. I feel good because I am not taking any medication, just diet, exercise and the herbs from Dr. Tan. He also found out that I am acidic with joint problems and gall stone. Just last month, I decided to have my hba1c again and the result was 6.8%. I am so happy that I am almost on the normal range. I don’t take the medications because it just made me feel nauseated, bloated and exhausted. I am so thankful to God that I found the right doctor for my family.

 

Hubby also loves Dr. Tan herbs. He is taking it too for his fatty liver and gallstone. So far his health is improving. I also got a chance to meet other patients who has cancer and become hopeful that they will feel better. Some even improved a lot. So this afternoon, it was a long queue but it’s okay. There are patients from Visayas and Northern part of Luzon. I pray to God that they will feel better.

 

I am also positive that my blood sugar will be going better since I am doing my best to keep it on a normal range. I remember the first time I found out that I have diabetes, I was so depressed and shocked and I really don’t know where to start because I don’t have guidance from families because they don’t have it (thanks God). So I just do my own research and read a lot of successful stories and I also found out the right method for my body. It’s not easy. It’s a long process and until now I still have down moment on dealing my diabetes. There are days that its high but there is always a new day to start so I don’t dwell to much of high numbers anymore. I finally know how to manage it and realize that it’s a lifetime commitment to myself. So if ever I failed, I don’t get mad of myself instead I told myself that it’s okay, we can always restart.

 

Since I found out that I have diabetes, I changed my diet so from 180lbs. I am now 140lbs. The first I avoided was coffee. I was a coffee addict and since I started avoided it, I feel better. At first, it was hard. I have cravings but I was determined. The next food I avoided is rice. I can eat 3 cups of rice every meal before but now, 1 cup of rice is enough. It was hard and my body had some withdrawal syndrome but I never gave in. I am thankful that I have discipline to reach my goal.

 

I realized that we can always get medications but if we will not change the way we eat or change our lifestyle the medications are useless. So if you have diabetes like me, take charge of your health now.

 

Before the Year Ends

 

Few hours from now, we will be leaving 2012 behind but it seems that it will not have a graceful exit on us. We are sick for days already and it is really hard. The kids are having fever and I have fever and tonsilitis too. It ‘s really hard to take care of the kids because I am also sick. I’m thankful that my husband spends time taking care of us and I hope that we will feel better soon.

 

So here I am, still awake because I slept the whole day due to my fever. After taking meds, I feel better now and I hope that tomorrow is a better day.

Think Positive

Sometimes, we really can’t help it but we feel so low but I am trying my best to be on the positive side always. Just like dealing my diabetes, sometimes I am happy with my blood sugar but sometimes down.

I realized that it is a lifetime battle.  Last year my Hba1c is 11% and the normal range is 4% – 7%. Since then I started changing my lifestyle. I started on my diet and exercise. The first few months was really hard but eventually my system got used to the changes.

Last week, I had my hba1c test again and the result is 9.8%. So far it has changes and I am happy with it. My next target is to reach it to 7%. I know and I believe that I can do it.

My goal is to exercise 30 minutes everyday and eat less carbs. So far it’s working.

I know that someday, my blood sugar will be back to normal. It’s not easy but I will do everything to reach that goal.

 

My New Exercise Routine

I need to lose more weight so I asked hubby to get me a Turbo Jam video. It’s my first day today and so far I love it. The moves are quite difficult for a person like me who are not really active but I know I can do it.

I read reviews about it and so far I was convinced so I decided to try it. It was really fun because my sister is also interested too. While I am doing it, my 2 year old daughter is also working out with me and she is really so funny. She follows the moves and that made her sleep soundly while I am doing this post.

The most important part is that I like it and I know that I will continue doing it. I hope it will help me become active again and feel good.

My Journey of Living a Healthy Life

 

Friends notice that I am losing weight and I am very happy because all my hard work are paid off. From 180lbs after gaving birth to Ayumi, now I am 140lbs. and I still need to lose 20lbs. more.

Anyway, I change my diet immediately when I found out that I have type 2 diabetes. The first few months was terrible and if you happen to read my previous posts you will understand that those sickness I got was due to my sugar withdrawal.

I started eating red rice and I worked out 3 times a week. It was really hard and sudden drop of my blood sugar caused my vertigo. I feel so tired all the time and that made me experience anxiety.

It was hard because I was experiencing those changes while starting my business. I suddenly feel dizzy and started my panic attack and it was difficult for my husband because they don’t know how to deal with it.

While experiencing all those body changes, I never stop focusing to be healthy again. Sometimes, I don’t understand anymore my system but still I stay strong.

So I started acupuncture weekly and the after effects was really so bad. I feel the lightheadedness for a week but I believe that it will make me feel better so I just let my body adjust.

I also never stop working out, at least 15 minutes a day. I avoided eating rice after midnight.

The result is really remarkable. My blood sugar is less than 120lbs after bed.

While I am changing my lifestyle, i believe that it will make me feel better and I can be the best as I can be. I can now focus more of business and family.

With all that I experienced, I promised to myself that I will not go back to my old ugly habits and continue to eat healthy and exercise because I like it better now.

Exercise

 

I am back on doing my 3 times a week exercise. I feel better now and I think it’s about time to start working out. I bought a video workout guide and so far I like it.

Right now my muscles are aching but I like it that way. I know that it is just a normal reaction of my body. I am determined to lose 20lbs more from my 140lbs. current weight.

I hope I will reach it before summer so that I can wear that summer outfit I’m longing to wear. 😀

 

Coffee and Vertigo

I found out that Coffee can trigger vertigo so if you have vertigo you have to stop drinking coffee.

I know that coffee is part of my every morning routine but I have no choice but to stop taking it or else I have a worst day. Since I stop taking coffe, I feel some changes, I don’t have vertigo attack and I am so thankful.

I find it hard to give up coffee at first but since I like the effect on me when I don’t have coffee, I learn to appreciate and giving up is not that hard anymore.

Herbs Day

I am taking this herbs for 3 days now.
