Intense…

The first 3 days when I started my medication was really terrible. It was so intense. I can’t get up to bed. All I wanted to do was to sleep. I still have my vertigo but I am managing it well. I don’t get panic anymore when my world is spinning. I just hope that it will totally be gone. I read that it will take 6 weeks to completely recover and I hope I will feel better soon with my vertigo. Other than that, I am now okay, quite okay.

Since I started my medication, my blood sugar is now way below than my usual readings. I am positive that I can control it soon. I’m just happy to finally found a doctor that knows how to take care of me. I was looking for a long time and I am glad that I found one. He knows how to explain everything before giving me the medications and he himself is a diabetic so he really knows what he is talking about. I’m glad that he understands what I’m going through. I am excited to finally lower my blood sugar and control my diabetes.

So there…

Ampalaya Juice

I read a lot of the benefits of Ampalaya Juice and since I am diabetic, I wanted to try this one. I am not taking any medication right now and I just wanted to focus on taking supplements.  It’s my first time to take ampalaya juice and it was difficult for me because I am not really into Ampalaya. When I first tasted it, I never thought that I can take it but I made sure to finish it.

I am proud of myself because I finally made it.  I will be taking ampalaya juice everyday and monitor my blood sugar and I am hoping that it will make my blood sugar in normal range.

Travelling with Diabetes

Travelling with diabetes infographic (some are no brainer type stuff other stuff may be things you never thought of)

Don’t let your diabetes keep you from travelling and to enjoy life. I think that travelling make me more active and good for my health. Everytime I travel, it’s the best time because I am not dwelling much on my blood sugar. I just make sure to enjoy every moment of it but don’t forget to plan everything. Bring your medications, eat well and just relax.

Dealing Diabetes

Since I am really determine to fight my diabetes, I am reading more books that will definitely help me.  I ordered most of my books from Amazon and just in time before Christmas, here comes my order. My Christmas list is now complete! I can’t wait to read my new books.

Diabetes Update

I am not sharing much about my diabetes because I am still focusing on it, but not as worried when I was first diagnosed. After a year of managing my diabetes, I am happy that I finally control it through diet and exercise. Of course there are days that my sugar goes high specially if I am sick but I never lose hope. Everyday is a struggle and with the help of my husband and my siblings I am living a healthy life.

The first few months when I started controlling my carbs intake was terrible. I had sugar withdrawal and it was very hard to deal with. I am happy that I overcome and done that phase. Though right now, I am still a little obese but I lose so much weight already and I hope that next year I can drop extra weights.

It’s not really easy but I am willing to do everything to reach my ideal weight and normal blood sugar. I am reading blogs about type 2 diabetes and I got inspired because they manage to reverse the diabetes. I am hoping that in the near future I can do it too. I hope and pray that no diabetes complications will come my way and that is the reason why I am very mindful in what to eat.

Anyway, I would like to post my weight update:

Nov. 2011 180 lbs.

Nov. 2012 140lbs.

I still need to lose 20lbs. I believe that I can do it. 🙂

My Journey of Living a Healthy Life

Friends notice that I am losing weight and I am very happy because all my hard work are paid off. From 180lbs after gaving birth to Ayumi, now I am 140lbs. and I still need to lose 20lbs. more.

Anyway, I change my diet immediately when I found out that I have type 2 diabetes. The first few months was terrible and if you happen to read my previous posts you will understand that those sickness I got was due to my sugar withdrawal.

I started eating red rice and I worked out 3 times a week. It was really hard and sudden drop of my blood sugar caused my vertigo. I feel so tired all the time and that made me experience anxiety.

It was hard because I was experiencing those changes while starting my business. I suddenly feel dizzy and started my panic attack and it was difficult for my husband because they don’t know how to deal with it.

While experiencing all those body changes, I never stop focusing to be healthy again. Sometimes, I don’t understand anymore my system but still I stay strong.

So I started acupuncture weekly and the after effects was really so bad. I feel the lightheadedness for a week but I believe that it will make me feel better so I just let my body adjust.

I also never stop working out, at least 15 minutes a day. I avoided eating rice after midnight.

The result is really remarkable. My blood sugar is less than 120lbs after bed.

While I am changing my lifestyle, i believe that it will make me feel better and I can be the best as I can be. I can now focus more of business and family.

With all that I experienced, I promised to myself that I will not go back to my old ugly habits and continue to eat healthy and exercise because I like it better now.

God bless!

I Choose to be Happy

I feel good today even though I woke up with a high sugar. I manage to lower it and I don’t feel any pain in my body. I love the feeling.

Last night was terrible. After work, we went to the gym, I had a great time working out but to my surprise I got so low. Well, 98 mg/dl is low for me since my body is not used to it yet. I am looking forward to reach that normal level eventually.

I got dizzy but I never panicked. I ask the lady to give me juice and it made me feel better. That is my first real hypo without medication. I hope it will not happen again because I don’t like the feeling.

Well..

I choose to be happy today. I read blogs related to happiness and diabetes and I learn a lot from them.

Maybe.. I will avoid reading to much medical records but focus on dealing my diabetes with happiness. I don’t want diabetes to ruin my life. I know that I have it 24/7 but I won’t let it affect my life 24/7.

My Diet

After reading different forum and blogs, I found out that Low Carbs and High Fat diet is perfect for those who are diabetics. So here I am trying this amazing diet and hoping that it will help me control my blood sugar.

I’ve been doing this for a week already and I am so amazed that I can do it. Actually, my husband is doing it too and that made this diet possible. He is the one helping me reach my goals. I am so thankful for his effort.

Well, he also needs to lose weight and that is the reason I convinced him to join me on this diet.

The last time I checked my weight, it was 146lbs but after a week I am now 140lbs. So happy!!

By the way, I am now back on taking Metformin and doing this for 2 weeks already. So I have to wait for 6-7 weeks before my medication take effects. I will update more about that next time.

Health Issues

Here’s an update about my diabetes…

As much as I want to lower my blood sugar naturally, I can’t do it. It keeps on showing high numbers and so alarming. I keep on reading diabetes forums and learn so many things. Then I realize that I should try medications this time and then cut it eventually if my blood sugar level drops to normal range.

So here I am taking Metformin and based on what I read it will take effect after 6-8 weeks of taking it.

I am very positive that everything will be fine but this time I have to take extra care of my health.
