Traveling with Kids

I love to travel and that is why I am now exposing my kids to it because I want them to understand the importance of traveling. But the preparation is not easy specially if you are traveling with infant and special child. Most of the time, We travel without a nanny because we don’t want to get 2 rooms. Packing is really not easy but hubby is somewhat an expert already and I am glad that he learns it the way I want it.

Usually, we overpacked but I think it is just  good thing if you have a 3 months infant and a 7 year old kid. We have their extra shirts, pants and underwears. For the infants, I need to bring extra blankets and pajamas because we don’t know if the hotel is so cold for them. I also bring jackets for each of them specially if its raining. If we plan to go to the beach, extra towel is important eventhough the hotels will provide because sometimes the towel get easily soaked. I also bring their own shampoo and soap because I don’t want to use the hotel products because it might irritate their skin.  We usually have our trip within Luzon area only this time because I feel that Xavier is not yet ready for a plane ride but I am planning for his first Plane ride soon. In a span of 3 months, we went to Baguio and Batangas already and so far we managed to make our vacation hassle free.

For the food, I see to it to bring extra food for Gareth. We bring water and some sandwich because he easily got irritated if he is hungry. For the baby’s milk, we make sure to have the formula and water handy. At the hotel, I make sure they offer room service because it is really hard going to the restaurant or cafe if the kids are not in the mood. At least in our room we can eat freely though the kids are fussy. We also bring toys that they love most. For Gareth, we have his little car, ipad or iphone. For Xavier, I have those little plush toys and of course his pacifier. He likes his pacifier if he is sleepy.

Since, they will be expose to anything like bacteria, I make sure that they got their vaccines because their health and safety are our top priority.

I am glad that Gareth is well trained. He is used to travel and he loves it. We are planning of our next outing but before that, I think we need to apply for Xavier’s passport first.

Though traveling with them is not easy but it is always fun. I don’t want to travel without them because traveling without them is useless because I can’t really have fun because I end up worrying.

It’s not easy but it will never stop us because traveling is essential for me to keep my sanity. LOL
