Chinese Herbs

I had my check up to a well known Chinese Doctor at Binondo. Since, I’m very sickly lately and the western drugs is not helping me, so decided to try the Chinese doctor.

His name is Dr. Tan of Binondo. I went to his clinic with my sister and husband. The clinic is quite small but it offers lot of chairs and well ventilated.  The Dr. checked my pulse rate and tongue then he told me that my kidney is weak and he even told me that I have legs and back pain.

He gave me a note with my medication and asked me to buy the herbs at the nearby Chinese Drug Store.

We never wasted our time and headed to Chinese Drug Store and to my surprised I smell different herbs and the space was occupied by buyers.

I waited outside while hubby bought our herbs.

So here I am, taking my herbs for 2 days already and I never feel this before. All the pains are gone and I can work long hours without any pain.

I am so happy and thankful to God that I met Dr. Tan.

We will be visiting the Him again this coming saturday and I will post more about it. 🙂

God bless everyone!!

Vertigo

I never knew I have this since I had my attack. We went to ER and the doctor told me that I have vertigo. They prescribed me meds but it doesn’t help me. From then on, I am on search for the treatment of my vertigo.

I even tried ear candles. It helps too but the floating feeling and air in my ear is still there.

It’s so hard to have this kind of illness specially in my type of work that I need to focus and to talk to my client. Just last night, I found out that Ginkgo Biloba is a big help for Vertigo.

I never waisted time, I let hubby bought it then take 1 capsule. To my surprise, I feel better. I don’t have the floating feeling anymore.

So if you have Vertigo, try taking Ginkgo Biloba too.

Aside from that, I am have my acupuncture weekly for my diabetes and so far my blood sugar is now in the normal range.

This is my journey of living life well. 🙂

Acupuncture

I tried acupuncture for the first time last Wednesday. At first I was hesitant because it might be painful but because I wanted to reduce my stress and body pain then I gave it a try.

I was relieved after the first session. I sleep after and feel so good. My next session will be next week and I can’t wait for it.

Acupuncture is an alternative medicine methodology originating in ancient China[citation needed] that treats patients by manipulating thin, solid needles that have been inserted into acupuncture points in the skin. According to Traditional Chinese medicine, stimulating these points can correct imbalances in the flow of qi through channels known as meridians.[1] However, scientific research has not found any histological or physiological correlates for qi, meridians and acupuncture points,[2][3][4] and some contemporary practitioners needle the body without using the traditional theoretical framework.[5][6]

Current scientific research supports acupuncture’s efficacy in the relief of certain types of pain and post-operative nausea.[7][8] Other reviews have concluded that positive results reported for acupuncture are too small to be of clinical relevance and may be the result of inadequate experimental blinding,[9] or can be explained by placebo effects[10][11] and publication bias.[12][13]

The invasiveness of acupuncture make it difficult to design an experiment that adequately controls for placebo effects.[14][15][16] A number of tests comparing traditional acupuncture to sham procedures found that both sham and traditional acupuncture were superior to usual care but were themselves equivalent, findings apparently at odds with traditional theories regarding acupuncture point specificity.[17]

The efficacy of acupuncture is controversial. Its use for certain conditions has been tentatively endorsed by the United States National Institutes of Health, the National Health Service of the United Kingdom, the World Health Organization,[1][18] and the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine,[19][20][21][22]. Some scientists have criticized these endorsements as being unduly credulous and not including objections to or criticisms of the research used to support acupuncture’s effectiveness.[23][24][25]

There is general agreement that acupuncture is safe when administered by well-trained practitioners using sterile needles[19][26][27][28]and carries a very low risk of serious adverse effects.

About Health

Since I am taking Metformin 500g twice a day and one of the side effect is Vitamin B12 Deficiency. So here I am, I feel muscle weakness and pain so I think I should take Vit. B12 twice a day too.

So from now on, I will eat more food that are rich of Vit. B12.

No more Coffee

Last Friday, I had my anxiety attack. Oh well, I just realized it today that it was anxiety attack. It was an ordinary day, I woke up feeling so tired. So I had my breakfast and coffee then take my diabetes medicine.

At the office, I keep on going back to the restrooms for my unending peeing. Then suddenly I lost balance. I had rapid palpitations then dizziness.

I called hubby to come to the office right away then we went to ER. The DR gave me medicine for Vertigo. I took it then realized that I don’t have Vertigo. The result…. I stayed the next day in bed. All I wanted to do is to sleep. Maybe the side effect of the medicine.

Upon realizing everything.. I found out that maybe it is due to my coffee and diabetes medicine. They should not be taken at the same time. So to stop my panic attack and to give peace of mind of the people around me I stop drinking coffee.

I hope I can do it for a week then eventually forgot about it.

It will be very hard for me because I am a coffee drinker since I am a kid but I think I have too much caffeine already and I should stop now.

Wish me luck..

Avoiding Heat Stroke

Today is the hottest day of the year and the temperature may still rises for the coming days. For someone like me who has very low tolerance of heat, I really can’t stand outside without fainting. This afternoon, I tried staying outdoor while having a small talk with my relatives then suddenly I have fast heart rate then I got uneasy. I went inside the airconditioned room and take lots of water.

This really alarmed me! It happened twice already for this month alone and I think I should take extra precautions.

Here are some of the information I got about Heat Stroke:

  1. If someone’s body temperature reaches 105 degrees, they could have heat stroke.
  2. If a person has heat stroke, the person probably isn’t sweating much.
  3. With heat stroke, the skin will be hot and red.
  4. The person may be dizzy or nauseous.
  5. If a person has heat stroke, his/her pulse may be rapid.
  6. Immediately call a doctor.
  7. Get the person out of the sun.
  8. Take off the person’s outer clothing.
  9. Apply cool water or apply cold packs to the person’s body to lower the temperature.
  10. If the person is conscious, provide small sips of salt water.
  11. Do not give any drugs, alcohol or caffeine to the person.
  12. To prevent heat stroke, wear light, loose fitting clothes and a hat in the sun.
  13. Drink a lot of water (even if you don’t feel thirsty) to prevent heat stroke.
  14. To prevent heat stroke, take in a little more salt than usual with meals. This helps retain water.
  15. If you are out in the desert heat walking, hiking or playing sports make sure you carry a phone with you. Never hike or play golf alone during the heat of the summer.

Dizziness

I feel dizzy most of the time and I blame my blood sugar medication for this for so long. Sometimes I also thought that I might be hungry so I keep on eating.

But I realized lately that maybe it has something to do with my vision…

So today is the day.

We went to EO Optical for my eyes check up and I found out that my eyes grade are 50/75 and the normal vision is 20/20. So here I am wearing my new eyeglasses. Actually this is my second glass. The first one was 12 years ago. Yes.. that long already.

I am enjoying every moment of it now. I can see things better this time and of course I feel better. The dizziness are gone. Thank God!!

Here’s my nerdy new look with my little Ayumi. 🙂

I am sick!

I am sick for 3 days already. It all started with colds then I had asthma then today I have fever. I had a hard time leaving the bedroom. I slept for the rest of the day and worried of my blood sugar.

When I woke up, it’s quite high around 200mg/dl and I got dizzy all the time. So I just rest for the rest of the day while I have a terrible headache.

I took medicines and hoping that I will feel better soon!

How’s your day?

Asthma Attack

For 3 days I have asthma attack. This is really frustrating and I am hoping that I will feel better soon. I am thankful that I have nebulizer and its a big help.
